Top Four Ways to recycle
Whether you’re in the process of moving or simply want to reduce your carbon footprint, there are several great ways to recycle. These include composting, recycling aluminium cans and paper, and plastic bottle recycling. Here are the top four:
Composting
There are several different ways to compost. High-quality compost can be applied to plants, while medium-quality compost can be used in roadside landscaping or erosion control. Low-quality compost can be used for mulching purposes or repurposed into a filler for landfills. If you are looking for a sustainable way to recycle your trash, consider composting.
In addition to composting organic matter, composting can also help enrich soil. It works by accelerating decomposition and provides an environment for bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms to flourish. Afterwards, this product looks like rich soil for your garden. Farmers call compost “black gold” because of its high nutrient content.
Recycling aluminium cans
There are a lot of reasons to recycle aluminium cans, including the environment. Aluminium is recyclable in two-thirds of its original size. More than one hundred billion aluminium cans are discarded annually, consuming nearly 1 billion tons of energy. In the United States, one aluminium can consumes about as much energy as ten cans made from virgin material, and the recycling process reduces the amount of energy required to produce a new can by more than half.
Recycling aluminium cans is a great way to help keep landfills from filling up with trash. The aluminium industry pays approximately $800 million a year to recycle aluminium cans. This money goes to local schools, Habitat for Humanity, and Boy Scouts. In addition to being good for the environment, the recycling of aluminium cans helps provide much-needed housing for the low-income families in need. It’s a win-win situation for both individuals and communities.
Recycling paper
There are countless benefits to recycling paper. Recycling it reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Paper production requires large amounts of energy and adds to the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Recycling it, however, reduces these emissions by up to 70 percent. It also helps preserve our fibre supply by reducing landfilled waste. The production process for virgin paper uses a great deal of water. To make virgin paper, a pulp is made from wood pulp. Other sources of pulp include cotton, bamboo, and sugarcane waste. Once the pulp has been cooled, it is pumped through screens which vibrate steadily. The screens remove moisture from the pulp and convert it into paper.
While some forms of paper are recyclable, others aren’t. Tissue paper, napkins, and paper towels, for instance, are made from recycled paper, but their waxed or parchment-coated liners cannot be recycled into new paper. In addition, paper that has been soiled with grease or food waste cannot be recycled. Dispose of soiled food bags and pizza boxes in the trash instead of recycling bins.
Recycling plastic bottles
Recycled plastic bottles can be made into anything from backyard decks to playground equipment to carpet. The plastic caps can even be reused as tough kitchen bowls and car battery cases. And with all the recyclable material around, you might even end up with new bottles for your family. Recycling plastic bottles is a great way to give back to the environment, and it can provide job opportunities for the people who collect it. Recycling plastic bottles can reduce waste in our landfills, and it is a greener way to make your life easier.
Many recycling centres don’t care about the labels on plastic bottles, and some of them will pay for weight. It is also important to remove labels from plastic bottles before recycling. Some programs require that you remove them, but you might not have to. If you are recycling multiple bottles, you can save time by removing them before you drop them off at a recycling centre. This way, you won’t have to sort through them again. And you’ll save more money, too.
